Prevention.

Encouraging open communication with your children can help them grow emotionally and socially healthy. A loving and supportive home environment can help nurture emotional health, independence, self-confidence, social skills and insightful, empathetic behavior toward others.

Of course, prevention also includes regular checkups, vaccinations against common diseases and education about how your child or adolescent can contribute to their own good health by eating right, getting adequate sleep and enjoying daily physical activity.
