Our team includes nationally recognized clinicians, teachers, and speakers who serve on the clinical faculty for the University of Washington School of Nursing and Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing.

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Bob Smithing has been a family nurse practitioner (FNP) since 1981. He has expertise with teenagers, women’s health, asthma treatment, and dermatology. He holds a master of science in nursing (MSN) from the University of Pennsylvania and board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner. He also studied nursing as an undergraduate student at State University of New York (SUNY) in Buffalo. Bob has received many honors and awards for his leadership and contributions to the field of nursing in the past 30 years. He is a past president of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and served on the original board of the American College of Nurse Practitioners. Bob is the recipient of the Sharp Cutting Edge Leadership Award – an award given once a year by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (formerly the American College of Nurse Practitioners) and bestowed upon an outstanding nurse who has demonstrated leadership above and beyond. He is also the recipient of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ Washington State Outstanding Nurse Practitioner award. In addition, Bob is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP), a prestigious honor held only by only 1 of 500 nurse practitioners in the United States. He was also mentioned in Seattle magazine's article "Top Doctors: The Super Nurse." Bob has previously been on the editorial board of the Journal for Nurse Practitioners and Clinician Reviews and was the co-editor of ARNP Care from 1989 to 2015. He is founder of the website NPCentral.net and of NPInfo the first social network for NPs. Bob is an adjunct faculty for Seattle Pacific University School of Health Sciences where he teaches doctoral nurse practitioner students gender health and business. He is a clinical faculty member for the University of Washington, Seattle University and Pacific Lutheran University, educating the next generation of family nurse practitioners. Maddy Wiley cares for patients of all ages with all types of medical problems. She has an interest and special expertise in women’s health, asthma and allergies, and dermatology. Maddy has been a family nurse practitioner since 1980. She earned a master of science in nursing (MSN) at the University of Pennsylvania and was subsequently certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner. Maddy is a fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP), a prestigious honor held by only 1 in 500 nurse practitioners in the United States. Maddy has been recognized for excellence in nursing with several honors and awards during her career.
